PTT supports ‘Pantawid’ program; offers fuel discounts to PUVs

Supporting the government’s ‘Pantawid Pasada Program’, PTT Philippines has disclosed that about 30 of its gasoline stations in Luzon and the Visayas opened a fuel discount lane for public utility vehicles, especially public utility jeepneys.
Speaking with the media during the ‘PTT Meets the Press’ Wednesday at the Café Amazon in EDSA Munoz, Quezon City, PTT Philippines President & Chief Executive Officer Sukanya Seriyothin said that some of its stations offer as much as P2.50 per liter discount.
“This is our way of supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) in its ‘Pantawid’ program to cushion the impact of the rising prices of crude oil,” Seriyothin told reporters, adding that even before the ‘Pantawid’ was launched some of its stations were already giving discounts to PUJs.
“We are just actually reinforcing our efforts by adding more stations that would give fuel discounts,” Ms. Seriyothin said.
PTT Philippines Trading Corporation General Manager Danny Alabado, on the other hand, disclosed that the Thai oil firm is looking at the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Agreement with the DOE to formalize the company’s support to the government program.
“Everything is being carefully reviewed so we could maximize whatever support that we could give to the program, especially to public utility vehicles and jeepneys,” he said.
PTT currently has 132 gasoline stations scattered all over Luzon, particularly in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Northern Luzon, and Cebu in the Visayas.
